Welcome to "Al Castello"
Our Restaurant is inside Pietra Ligure's Castle, a fortress dating back to the 12th century.
The rooms, preserving their ancient architecture, still have the floor in the original italian cotto and the vaults still show the ancient red bricks, intervowen following a peculiar geometry.
We offer our customers the traditional ligurian cuisine as homemade ravioli and tagliolini, zemino, buridda, farinata, as well as fish and seafood based cuisine, with oysters and clamps. We also prepare a wonderful pizza, cooked in the traditional oven.
During the winter we are open all days except for Wednesday (closed the whole day) while on Thursdays we serve only lunch from 12.30 to 19.00. During the summer we are open monday to friday only for dinner from 19.00 while on Saturdays and Sundays we serve lunch and dinner, starting from 12.00.
Quality and genuineness
We offer our customers a genuine experience inside the food of tradition, to satisfy the taste of every customer. We use only first quality ingredients, as the excellent extra virgin olive oil produced in the valleys of Liguria, or the flour, produced in traditional mills, fresh fish and seafood, fresh homemade pasta. Every detail and ingredient is carefully selected by Chef Angelo with passion and seriousness.
The wines
In our cellar lie the finest traditional ligurian wines, as Pigato, Vermentino, Acerbina and Rossese together with Veneto and Piemonte wines. Of course, we select only wines produced by quality wine makers of limited production.
Our prices: the average cost ranges from 25 to 40 euros per person and only from 10 to 15 euro per person for pizza based meal.
